The Snake
The thought insinuated,
the deadly apple,
the snake's gift,
poisons the soul
deadens perception.
Sinuous death coiled ,
threatens, tempts, entices,
seduces with onyx eyes,
hypnotizes
the very soul.
Ancient myth blurs reason,
maligns the serpent
distorts the vision,
the eyesight that came
with the first bite
of apple.
