That when I was running home
Running to escape from my job
There was a tinkling sound
Coming from inside my chest
I guess that's what happens
When you are constantly given a hard time
At work
There was a tinkling sound
Like a bunch of stuff was broken
Inside my chest
I know what happens next
After the running and tinkling
Is scarring
The scarring is the worst because
It lasts longer on the inside than on the outside
The day after the tinkling and the scarring
I spent all of my change I could scrounge up
On a heart that doesn't feel
It was on sale for 95 cents including G.S.T.
Regular price was the life of another
But this one was reduced to clear
Because they aren't that hard
To come by
So the heart transplant went well
The 95 cent heart was considerably smaller
And I had to stay invisible
For a shorter than usual time period
But it worked out well
The day after all this
I was back at work
Ready to take an another day
Just in case of any trouble
I brought a ladybug to work
It was the size of a small tomatoe
I figured that if ladybugs eat aphids
(That's why they're my favorite insect
They are so beneficial to the environment)
That it would eat all the people
Giving me grief at work
It didn't work
I just ended up hurting the ladybug's wings
In transport
It was alive but it just couldn't fly
I cried over this and went home early
Because the crying thing wasn't supposed to happen again
With the 95 cent heart
So on the way home I took it back
It was a stretch
To get my old heart back in
But it worked out O.K.
This just goes to show you
That one shouldn't look for deals
With the heart
Hmmm
Maybe I should cancel that brain transplant appointment
