Proclamation from the Subrealism Foundation's

Bureau of Internal Revelation

Post-modernism is akin to massive dot/com losses on the stock market (i.e. it does not exist). Therefore any post-modern art criticism, by its own confession is meaningless and must be considered counter-evolutionary. The bureau of Internal Revelation has determined that post-modernists are collaborating with various Arts Administration subsidiaries of Big Box Bureaucracy to create a cultural industry dedicated to the production of Art with no meaning. The Subrealism Foundation deplores this philistine agenda and decrees that post-modernism is an obsolete art movement. The subrealist avant garde is bored with fighting these rear guard battles against middle man! agement arts administrators and aesthetically challenged funding bodies and hereby excommunicates them. They are therefore banished from the property of The Subrealism Foundation and are to be considered persona non grata on all Institute of Iconography property as well.

This situation obviates the need for long overdue reforms in dealing with the Consensus Society's administration of art. The following recommendations were presented to the Bureau of Internal Revelation by the Committee for the Preservation of Aesthetic Subrealism:

Arts administrators must explain themselves metaphorically in free verse to the satisfaction of the Committee or be considered Big Box Bureaucracy collaborators at large and subject to being summarily shot by roving paint ball squads.

Any requests forwarded to government or corporate funding bodies must include all leftover calls for submissions and be accompanied by demands for immediate surrender. Samples of manifestos in progress or under construction will be considered for all applicants who can show in creative writing that they are not con artists. Senior con artists will be referred to the Bureau of Internal Revelation for debriefing. All others suspected of being con artists may be transfered to the Department of Abstract Analysis and terminated with extreme prejudice if it is determined that they have been using abstraction as a cover for con art.
