The air between them became stale
The air between them became stale. Unspoken words trailing through the room as she traced her fingers along their lines, wishing for the courage to speak them aloud. Brail truths no one dared explore.
“I’m just tired”, she said to the floor.
His hands strummed random melodies that rocked her thoughts to sleep as she stood up and turned towards the bedroom.
She sighed through the music and touched his cheek, pausing for only a moment to run her hands across the wall.
“Help me”, her fingers read.
She could still hear the melodies as she drifted off to sleep, for hours afterwards.
For years, afterwards.
