some Fort McMurray work poems

1.

cobalt clouds above the
dark, wet blue-gray clay;
crumpled endless sky
tattered by ravens

2.

rutted mud road, rotting wood red, winds through deer colored grass, fall stained brush, white deadfall and tall thin forest fire blackened trunks… I redden my fingers on the iron oxide from inside a broken stone

3.

the only overhead lamp turned on
in the entire drowsy night time bus:
the redhead is braiding her hair

4.

pee and melt snow
off of a dark blue stone,
giving it another day or two of sky
