For The Elderly In Love: Go Get A Room
for the elderly in love
the wrinkled kisses
the doe-eyes behind
coke
bottle glass thick
spectacles
the matching outfits
the misaligned toupees
and inside out floral prints
their
tags sticking out
telltale
signs
the undone flies on hopsack pants
the nervous giggles
the rosy cheeks
the feeding to each other
portions
of breakfast
bits
of toast
strips
of bacon
and
a spoonful of grapefruit
cut
in half on the tabletop
reading the comic section of the newspaper
and
actually laughing
remembering and regaling stories
of
backseats
misty
windows
a
missed James Dean double-bill
when
all the dangerousness
of
James Dean
was
right there in person
no
ticket needed
all
the snacks carelessly spilled
taking turns massaging the other's feet
having trouble not wanting to stare
hopelessly
into the other's eyes
for the elderly in love
for the young inside their clothes
for the fire that never really gives up burning
though
many would think the kindling
has
long since been ash
for the elderly in love
go
get a room
you
crazy, crazy kids
